Sweet Dreams… How to Stay Asleep with Energy Healing

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night unable to get back to sleep? Maybe you toss and turn and start thinking about all that is wrong in the world, or what you wish was different in your life? I remember the days when I would wake up and look at the clock. It would be 2:56 am and I would start thinking about the things in life that I wished were different. The stress of my job, if only I have more money. Concerns with my boys, were they happy, were they making good decisions? And then there were my aging parents. I had A LOT on my mind. When I woke up and started thinking…it would be impossible to get back to sleep. Then I would start calculating… if I fall back asleep in the next 5 minutes, how many hours could I sleep before the alarm went off. Have you ever done that? And once it starts then you go to bed wondering if you’re going to wake up again tonight, and the whole thing starts all over again. Ruminating thoughts that keep you in your head cause cortisol to flow through the body. Cortisol is a stress hormone that in small doses is a good thing for the body. If you encounter a perceived threat, cortisol increases to help the body deal with the moment of stress (like a large dog coming at you on your morning walk ). But after the threat is gone hormone levels should go back to normal. The problem is for many of us the natural stress response has gone wild, and we’re living in a constant state of fight or flight. Cortisol continues to stream through the system because it perceives your money problems, concerns with your kids or aging parents (those things you can’t stop thinking about) as a constant perceived threat. And that is why you can’t sleep. Your body thinks it needs to protect you. 

How To Help Sleep and Stay Asleep

An energy session helps to turn off the stress response so your body can truly rest. In the meantime if sleep is an issue here is something you can do tonight.

When you’re lying in bed put one hand on your heart and one on your belly.

Slow down your breath and feel the connection between your 2 hands.

Anchor your mind to the breath moving in and out.

Feel your body relax and ease into sleep. Sweet dreams….zzzzz
